FROM CAPE TOWN:

Travel out on the N1 and take exit 47, sign-posted as the R44 to Stellenbosch, Klapmuts and Wellington.  On leaving the N1, turn left and follow the R44 for 20km until you reach a four-way stop.  Proceed across the four-way stop and 2km later turn left at the road marked Distillery Street/ Wellington/ Porterville/ Ceres (still on the R44).  Travel for approximately 26km until you reach the turn-off on the left to Hermon/Riebeek Kasteel.  DO NOT TAKE THIS ONE but be on the lookout as our turn-off is 1KM LATER on the right, sign-posted BO HERMON.

FROM THE N2:

Take the R44 off-ramp next to the Somerset Mall shopping centre on the N2 and follow this road all the way through to Stellenbosch.  Once in Stellenbosch keep on the R44 to Wellington via Klapmuts.  Once you have passed under the N1 highway, follow the R44 for 20km until you reach a four-way stop.  Proceed across the four-way stop and 2km later turn left at the road marked Distillery Street/ Wellington/ Porterville/ Ceres (still on the R44).  Travel for approximately 26km until you reach the turn-off on the left to Hermon/Riebeek Kasteel.  DO NOT TAKE THIS ONE but be on the lookout as our turn-off is 1KM LATER on the right, sign-posted BO HERMON.

FROM THE N7

a) From Malmesbury take the R45 to Paarl and then about 4km out of town turn to the left on to the R46, sign-posted to Riebeek Kasteel and Ceres.  Follow the road past the signs to Riebeek Kasteel and Riebeek West and head towards Hermon, which you will bypass.  Over the railway bridge, turn left at the T-junction and exactly 1km later you will turn right at the sign-post to BO HERMON.

b) From Mooreesburg, take the turn-off to the left on the R311 to RIEBEEK WEST / RIEBEEK KASTEEL and follow the road all the way to Riebeek West and then on past Riebeek Kasteel till you reach the R46.  Turn to the left and head towards Hermon, which you will bypass.  Over the railway bridge, turn left at the T-junction  and exactly 1km later you will turn right at the sign-post to BO HERMON.

FROM CERES / TULBAGH

From the exit of the Nuwe Kloof pass, travel approximately 25km towards Wellington, past the Voelvlei dam, until you reach the turn-off to Bartholomeus Klip which is on the left, and sign-posted BO HERMON.   If you pass the turn-off to HERMON/MALMESBURY on your right, you have travelled 1km too far and will need to turn back to the BO HERMON turn-off.

FURTHER DIRECTIONS

Follow the gravel road for about 2km until it curves to the left and then sharply to the right (at this point there will be farm workers’ houses on your left and large sheds on your right).  As you come out of the second bend you will see two white concave walls on your left.  Turn down between the two walls and follow the road that heads towards the mountain until it reaches a cement drift, which you cross over.  You then take the right-hand fork and follow the road for about 3.5km until you reach the farmyard.   As you arrive (PLEASE BEWARE OF SPEED HUMPS) you will see on your left some small buildings under the trees, and then you will pass Wild Olive House and a private home.  The road then splits and you take the left-hand fork, towards the white-washed wall with the Bartholomeus Klip sign on it.  Follow the road up through the gardens under the oaks, and around to the parking area at the back of the house.
