Seasons at Bartholomeus Klip & Elandsberg Nature Reserve

Dancing to the tune of the seasons.

If staying at BK were a movie (an episode of Netflix’ The Crown was shot here), the seasons would provide the script. Lambs frolic in the farmlands in April and May, which is also our wheat planting season, while harvest season runs from October to November. The shearing of our lamb is quite the spectacle, from July to October and again in February. Our world-renowned flower season is in August and September. The Cape Winelands around Bartholomeus Klip, including Riebeek Valley, Wellington and Tulbagh – are buzzing with activity: harvest festivals, art exhibitions, concerts, markets, magnificent wine estates and excellent restaurants are very popular with the locals and international visitors throughout the year.
