We offer the perfect setting near Cape Town for individually designed, intimate celebrations, with complete packages providing plenty of choice to make any occasion unique. Couples have chosen to marry in all sorts of unusual places around the farm or in the reserve, and we are happy to accommodate any wish wherever we can.
Weddings have become a particular speciality at Bartholomeus Klip. The Deckhouse offers a magical setting for intimate groups of up to 30 guests. For larger groups up to 100, the gardens around the Farmhouse provide ample space to set up tables and a marquee.
We can accommodate a total of 13 singles, or 22 sharing + 2 single guests in a total of 13 rooms: 5 rooms in the main Farmhouse, 5 rooms + 1 loft at Heron House and 3 rooms at Wild Olive House. When you book the venue for a wedding, you do so exclusively – we allow no other guests.
There are four double rooms with bathrooms in the main Victorian farmhouse and one separate suite outside, with its own secluded verandah. Finishes everywhere are luxurious, and authentically reminiscent of olden-days charm. There is also additional accommodation in Wild Olive House and Heron House sleeping up to 30 guests .
The BK Deckhouse was built with the specific purpose of hosting celebrations for medium sized groups of guests. While the two-story deckhouse interior has an intimate and informal clubhouse kind of atmosphere, the balcony and stoep overlook the majestic Elandskloof Mountains, Elandsberg Nature Reserve and our dam – the perfect place to view sunsets. Food and drinks can be served from our deckhouse kitchen inside or outside the deckhouse, or at the lawn, where a big fire can be made in true African style.
The BK Restaurant is where our celebrated and published resident chef Louise Gillett pulls the strings. Louise prides herself on a fusion of traditional South African farm-style recipes with the latest techniques and trends, always with fresh and locally sourced produce.
The 10,000 acre Elandsberg Nature Reserve is a protected nature conservation area, boasting free roaming herds of zebra, quagga, eland, wildebees and an abundance of flowers and birds. We can organise private functions in the reserve.
The sprawling lawns, manicured plants and shady trees of the BK Gardens offer a true, authentic farm setting for your wedding. There is enough space to set up a marquee, or kick off your shoes, gather around a long table and create unforgettable memories while chatting, eating and dancing the night away.
The inhabitants of the working farm at which BK is located, including sheep, buffalo, tortoise and geese, never shy away from a great photo opportunity with the bride and groom. The old buildings and historic walls offer more great authentic locations to make your special wedding moments all the more memorable.
In fact, we’re very happy to turn any location at the farm or in the nature reserve into a special destination for your celebration.
