SUNDAY FAMILY LUNCH - Every Sunday from 25 MARCH to 29 JUNE 2018 / So, imagine ... it is Sunday, and you don't feel like cooking, but still want the family or friends gathered around a sumptuous lunch table, sharing hearty, bite-sized food and stories. Children are running around barefoot, hide behind trees, or paddle on the dam's unfiltered mountain water, while you unwind from a week filled with to-do lists and schedules. Well, allow us to take over ... Let us do the cooking, and the serving, and let us invite you to a carefree, relaxing day on an authentic African farm, only an hour away from Cape Town. We'll serve lunch with local, seasonal quality produce, at R280 pp (kids under 12 half price) So why not start planning your weekend now, and book your table at info@bartholomeusklip.com |
A NOTE ABOUT WATER - BK's water supplies are not affected by the current drought. As part of our overall environment-conscious ethos in a water-limited African climate, we always encourage guests to use water wisely. As concerns about water restrictions among tourists increase, we thought it good to let you know that our water is not depending on Municipal supplies, but sourced from springs and boreholes on the farm. Our pool is full with fresh clean water, and guests can enjoy showers and baths as usual. Should you have any questions about the water situation at #bartholomeusklip, don’t hesitate to contact Anneli or Lesley at TEL 0741599906 or info@bartholomeusklip.com |
CELEBRATING 20 YEARS AT BK & AT YOUR SERVICE - Linda Cloete started as a housekeeper only months after BK first welcomed guests through the front doors, and has been with us ever since. She soon moved into the kitchen to become an invaluable kitchen assistant and right-hand to Chef Louise. Her friendly smile and willingness to go the extra mile has endeared her to co-workers and guests alike, and no one chops carrots faster than she does ;-) BK is definitely a family affair, something we are truly proud of and grateful for. Linda works alongside her husband Lucas who is our driver and all round handyman go-to guy, her sister-in-Law Ursula who runs the housekeeping department with great success, and her niece Beatrice whose sunny smile greets guests at mealtimes. We thank her deeply for her dedicated, loyal service these past 20 years and look forward to many more years of working alongside Linda. |
SAY CHEESE - We have cameras installed all over the Elandsberg Nature Reserve. Unfortunately no leopard sightings this time, but we did manage to get a photograph of an aardvark along with some interesting photos of Baboon, Gemsbok and Bontebok. RANGER DIARIES - Our farming and conservation efforts on Elandsberg Farms got the spotlight in the Farmers Weekly magazine |
