While our weekly Sunday Family Lunch is still a firm favourite, and will be throughout the months of May and June, we will be offering a special Father's Day Lunch on 17 June at the Deckhouse, and on 8 June, Louise and guest-chef Christo Pretorius (from 12 Apostles fame) will be treating us to an exclusive, six-course farm-shed "Smoke & Fire" pop-up dinner. Food afficionados, put down that glass, fork and knife, sit up and pay attention! You know well enough what our resident chef Louise Gillett is capable of when she gets her hands on prime farm produce. But when chef Christo Pretorius from the 12 Apostles Hotel and Spa joins her at the stove in a fun social long-table farm dining experience at our sheep shearing shed, we expect eye-popping and mouth-flattering fireworks! Six courses of nose to tail bold flavours from foraged and sourced ingredients from the farm, the Swartland region and the West Coast, including wild boar, West Coast mussels, venison, lamb, homegrown herbs and Swartland wines. Total cost, including 6 course menu, paired wines, mountain water and fire-brewed coffee 750pp. Only 40 seats available! We start at 18H00. [ FATHER'S DAY LUNCH ] 17 JUNE from 12:00 - 16:00.

Local craft beer for all dads on arrival (sparkling wine for the moms) and a snack before lunch. Sit down to a three-course choice lunch. *

  • STARTER enjoy a soup made from biltong, barley, local ale with crisp onion rings, oven-fresh bread and farm butter OR Oxtail tortellini, winter vegetables, Vakarosa parmesan, parsley butter. 
  • MAIN COURSE Wild boar burger on a home-made bun, smoked cheese, apple chutney served with hand-cut fries and parmesan salt OR Buttermilk chicken with slaw and garlic, hand-cut fries and parmesan salt. For a bit of green there is a sharing salad on each table. 
  • DESERT Traditional Malva pudding with peach ice cream and vanilla custard OR Dulce chocolate mousse with milk chips and berries.

KIDDIES Home-made sausage roll with fresh tomato sauce and hand-cut chips OR Chicken and cheese burger with hand-cut chips. For dessert there is fruit salad and vanilla bean ice cream OR chocolate mousse with fresh cream to end.

R350.00pp, includes lunch, local craft beer and snacks, coffee and tea. Kids R180.00 per child. Bar purchases are excluded. Any special requirements can be catered for subject to prior notice.

[ SUNDAY LUNCH ] Every Sunday from 12:00 - 16:00.

So, imagine ... it is Sunday, and you don't feel like cooking, but still want the family or friends gathered around a sumptuous lunch table, sharing hearty, bite-sized food and stories. Children are running around barefoot, hide behind trees, or paddle on the dam's unfiltered mountain water, while you unwind from a week filled with to-do lists and schedules. Well, let us take over. Let us do the cooking, and the serving, and let us invite you to a carefree, relaxing day on an authentic African farm, only an hour away from Cape Town. We'll serve lunch with local, seasonal quality produce, at R280 pp (kids under 12 half price)
