Dear {name}, recent communication about the re-opening of international and local tourism has been, to say the least, confusing. While some reports indicated the "unequivocal advocacy for a phased reopening of international tourism to South Africa as soon as September 2020", (TBCSA) others quoted "domestic leisure tourism may only be able to restart in December and international tourism in 2021." (News24) And then, in his 17 June speech, President Ramaphosa announced the reopening of accommodation and restaurants in South Africa, under strict health and safety conditions ... It goes without saying that here at BK we're excited to re-open, but equally focussed on the safety of our guests and staff. We tentatively aim to re-open in August, which should give us sufficient time to develop, test and train staff on new hygiene protocols. Please read more about these new protocols below. Of course, as always, we also have listed some news from our kitchen, our community project, and the Elandsberg Nature Reserve. Love from the BK team xx FULL BOARD | B&B | HERON HOUSE | WILD OLIVE |

[ NEW SAFETY PROTOCOLS ] Staying or eating at Bartholomeus Klip was never intended to be a crowded beach-vibe experience ;-). Privacy and isolation are part of the make-up at BK, so not too many adjustments need to be made in that regard. However, fundamental changes are needed where guests and staff share spaces. We are developing deep-cleaning procedures for our rooms, and contactless check-in and check-out procedures for our reception. We are placing hand sanitiser at the entrance to all shared spaces, and will no longer offer buffet-style food, shared dinner menus and shared wine bottles. We will only announce an official re-opening date once we are confident that all measures are firmly in place.
