Dear {name}, 7 August 2020 is a day to be remembered and celebrated in the Bartholomeus Klip memoirs. It commemorates the collective sigh of relief we all breathed - at BK and far beyond - at being allowed to re-open after a four-month lockdown.

We are currently running at half speed, with only our self-catering units Wild Olive House and Heron House available for bookings. This allows us to try out and get used to our new health and safety protocols, and to duly prepare for the re-opening of our main Farmhouse and Restaurant to guests and day visitors on 18 September.

In other news, we are running two Spring Specials ("Self-catering" and "Rent the House”), spring flowers are blooming, we now have contactless check-in and check-out procedures, and the popular BK Bites are still available.

Love from the BK team xx

[ COMMUNITY RELIEF ] The Goedgedacht Trust has been absolutely amazingly hands-on in responding to rural community needs in the wake of Covid-19. While BK contributes to their feeding stations, they also offer family support, recovery centres, social and community support, testing and tracking stations, community gardens and immunity boosting drinks. Should you wish to join us in supporting the Goedgedacht Trust, please don’t hesitate to contact Loretta Williams at donoradmin@goedgedacht.org or call +27 (0) 22 482 4369, or make a donation (from R100) here You can find all the information of community relief efforts at and around BK here.

[ SHEEP AUCTION ] On 27 August, farmers from all over the region came to inspect, size up and offer money for BK’s prize-winning Merino sheep, under the watchful eyes and rattling roars of seasoned auctioneers. A Merino sheep’s worth is determined by a fine balance between the size and the quality of the wool it produces. For many years, BK’s sheep have been bred with the aim of establishing that perfect balance.

[ BK BITES ] We sign off with a reminder of our home-made meals and home-grown Wagyu Beef, home-delivered in and around Cape Town and the Cape Winelands. For orders go to bit.ly/bk-bites, email info@bartholomeusklip.com or WhatsApp 0828294131
