Dear {name}, 28 November was not a good day. Whether or not the world was right to cut off South Africa to prevent a virus variant that (for the second time) had been detected here by the pioneering work of our medical scientists, is up for debate. But what is not up for debate, is the fact that enormous economic damage was caused by this unilateral decision. SA tourism, already severely crippled by global restrictions on travel, was dealt a heavy blow right at the start of its high season.

But today is a good day: the UK has taken SA off its infamous red list, and SA tourism is once again open for business! If you're reading this and you find yourself outside of SA, we hope you will soon be booking your next holiday with us. If you're reading this while on SA soil, we also have good news for you: we are extending our "SA Local Special" until 31 March 2022.

And with that comes an end to another extraordinary year - a year in which we have been greatly touched by your support, whether you were staying with us, eating at our restaurant, attending our events or writing beautiful reviews about us. It's all greatly appreciated.

[ IN THE SPOTLIGHT ]  A familiar face to all our regular guests, Jana is living proof of the fact that staying at Bartholomeus Klip elevates natural levels of happiness ;-)

Jana has been working at Bartholomeus Klip from the day we’ve opened our doors. But that does not reveal anything about her age ... of course. Young at heart and with a never-fading twinkle in her eyes, Jana is always happy to greet a familiar face with a hug, a chat, and a laugh.

Jana has a real passion for hospitality and people (and netball, but that’s a story for another day), which shows in her many years of service in the hospitality industry. Born and raised on a local chicken farm in Hermon, it doesn’t get more local than Jana! Unsurprisingly, when asked what she likes most about working at BK, Jana says “I love working with the guests, and talking to them ...”
