Whether you need to switch off and enjoy some quality time with your family, friends and loved ones, or are in dire need of some adrenaline-powered action, we have just the right package for you.
Life moves slowly at bartholomeus klip, and we invite you to sit back, relax and let us cater for your every need . . .
It is here that your mind and body will find utmost relaxation – far away from life’s hustle and bustle, at the end of a dirt road, overlooking the majestic Hawequas mountain range.
Walk or cycle the visitor-friendly nature reserve, absorb the bird song, spot the eland, wildebees, quagga or bontebok, or read a book under a tree. Lounge at the pool and indulge at our much-loved restaurant, where chef Louise Gillett fuses farm-style traditional dishes with the latest culinary trends and techniques. Take part in one of our cooking classes, share sundowners in the nature reserve while on a guided nature drive in an open Landrover and get mesmerised by the natural flow of an authentic African farm. Around the farm, in nearby Riebeek Kasteel and Wellington, you will find art galleries, quaint shop and wine estates.
Bartholomeus Klip offers the perfect location to get sweaty and pumped with adrenaline in an untainted, natural environment . . .
Whatever blows your skirt and rocks your boat, Bartholomeus Klip offers the perfect location to get sweaty and pumped with adrenaline in an untainted, natural environment.
Ride a mountain bike in our private nature reserve, or go out for a challenging hike to and on the Hawequas Mountains. Stand up paddling, kayaking or swimming can be done at our mountain water dam. A guided nature drive is essential to learn about our nature conservation efforts, including our Quagga, buffalo and geometric tortoise breeding programmes, but also to wind down the day with a golden sunset and a stiff drink. Around the farm, you will find zip-lining in Ceres, a wine walk in Wellington, wine tastings at various farms and the infamous Welvanpas mountain bike trails.
Once upon a time, far far away from work stress, office schedules and PTA meetings, there was, Bartholomeus Klip, a paradise for parents and children alike . . .
Daily schedules and to-do lists probably take a good bite out of the quality time you wish to spend with your children. We get it. The life of the modern family is hectic, and there is little time left to give yourselves and your kids the time you and they deserve. This is where we step in 😉
Once upon a time, far far away from work stress, office schedules and PTA meetings, there was … Bartholomeus Klip, a paradise for parents and children alike. Its location at a working wheat and sheep farm allows guests to socialise with the farm animals, while its location in the midst of a private nature reserve gives guests the opportunity to get up, close and personal with bucks and birds. Children can run around barefoot and get dirty in the mud and climb trees and build a base or kayak on the lake, because that is what children do at a farm. Parents, too, can get dirty on long walks or rides through the nature reserve, or they can relax under a tree with a book or lounge at the pool.
Child-friendly accommodation options include Wild Olive House (with the self-contained Wild Olive Cottage) and Heron House. All meals can be ordered online, and delivered at your front door.
Memories are not only shared, but made, at Bartholomeus Klip. We have space for up to 16 guests . . .
A birthday, an engagement, renewal of your wedding vows, or just time to get together with the friends and catch up on all the stories, memories and future plans, in a private, intimate and remote location amidst a nature reserve, working farm and antique interiors. If this sums up just about the perfect setting for your next celebration, then Bartholomeus Klip is your first choice!
Go for long walks in the nature reserve, up to the mountains, or take a picnic and settle somewhere under a tree, near the zebras and wildebees. Or gather around the braai at the deckhouse, and nibble on burned marshmellows while reminiscing about past, present and future with a golden sunset blinking in your eyes.
Memories are not only shared, but made, at Bartholomeus Klip. We have space for up to 16 guests – 6 in the free standing Wild Olive House, and 10 in the Victorian farmhouse. If you rent all beds, we can guarantee exclusivity at a special rate. Accommodation options include full-board, bed & breakfast and self-catering.
